Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano’s Name Rolls Off the Tongue All Too Well, Must See Goofball Video

I woke up feeling a little goofy this morning….as if that’s any different than about any other day.  Anyway, so I thought I’d share with you all a little bit of my goofiness as hey, it’s the Friday of the Masters, and we’re all feeling a little extra chipper today (I might even have to whip up a Pimento Cheese sandwich for lunch you know, if I knew what Pimento Cheese looked like).

So, as we all saw, Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano fired a first round 4-under 68 yesterday at Augusta and was just 2 strokes off the lead of the Masters.  For those of us golf geeks like myself, we’ve all been familiar with Gonzalo for much longer than just yesterday, but for the masses, yesterday may have been a mini coming-out-party for him.

Well, for one reason or another, Gonzalo’s name just seems to roll off the tongue.  Maybe it’s because I majored in Spanish in college, maybe it’s because he’s a likable dude, maybe it’s because of his 9 syllable name, or maybe, just maybe…I’m just an exceptional goofball.

Anyway, Gonazlo’s name has always reminded me of American Family Insurance’s song in their commercials, you know what I mean- “Amerrrrrrrrrrican Fammmmmmmilllllllyyyy Insuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurance!”   So, to that same tune, I’ve always found myself signing Gonzalo’s name to that beat- “Gonzallllllllllllllllllllllloooooo Fernandez Cassssssstannnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooo!”

See below for my goofiness in action and let me know if either I am indeed as big of a goofball as I say or hey, maybe his name does roll fluidly to the beat of their commercial after all.  Either way, I bet his name to this beat will be stuck in your head all day. In fact, next time you see him in action or just his name on the leaderboard, sing it to yourself and I bet it’ll make your day that much better.   Yep, you can thank me later.
