Jason Dufner Holes Out For Eagle From Fairway During First Round of HP Byron Nelson Championship, Then Does A Celebratory Dance (Well Sorta)

If there’s one thing that we’ve learned about Jason Dufner, it’s that he gives us memorable moments when he’s not expecting to.

First there was Dufnering, which exploded in popularity.  Now, we have the 36-year-old big dippin’, shaggy-haired, floppy hatted goose doing fairway dances.  Well, sorta.

On Thursday at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, Dufner turned at +2 and had 129 yards in on hole 1 and jarred it for eagle.  What ensued was some sort of hands-bouncing-off-the-hips wait-a-second-before-this-gets-too-awkward what-am-I-supposed-to-do-now celebration.  Then it was just back to the carefree, hat down, plompy (my new word for Duf) stroll up the fairway to pluck the ball out of the cup.

Dufner shot even on the day, to leave him a whopping ten shots back from Keegan Bradley’s course record 60.
