I’ve always said that mixing things up on the PGA Tour with different formats is a great idea.  The International at Castle Pines used to be one of my favorite annual events, as its Stableford scoring system was both fantastically unique and intriguing.  Major kudos to Finchem and crew for resurrecting that exciting format and installing it at the Tour’s Reno Tahoe Open.  [Read more…]

I love the PGA Tour’s West Coast swing.  Starting out in Hawaii, rolling through the Southwest and the annual birdie blitz that is the Humana Challenge (yep, it’ll always be known as “The Hope” in my head too), then over to Torrey Pines, followed by the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party (with a golf tournament in the background- the Phoenix Open), then to Pebble and then last but not least, onward to Riviera.  [Read more…]
