It Was Birdies and Alligators Galore During the First Round of The Zurich Classic

During Thursday’s opening round of the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana in New Orelans, players were blitzing the course with red numbers as a ghastly 106 out of 156 players in the field finished at par or better (Ricky Barnes leads at -8, aka Barky Raines).  So, as part of the course’s last attempt at some opening round defense, Pete Dye and company sent alligators out on a chase to defend their turf.

Graeme McDowell Wins RBC Heritage at Harbour Town- Somehow, He Actually Makes That Tartan Jacket Look Good

It has always seemed crazy to me that Tom Lehman only won five total times on the PGA Tour.   He was a gritty player who always seemed to be lurking around contention, and while yes, he did win a major (’96 British Open), to only hoist a victorious trophy five total times in his career is definitely a stat that most golf fans aren’t aware of.

RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Preview, Picks + Predictions Plus the Driver-Off-The-Deck BOLD Play of the Week

In a 2011 Golf Digest poll, PGA Tour players ranked Harbour Town ranked as their 2nd favorite venue on the annual Tour rota.  Considering the company of other renowned courses on Tour, that’s quite the honor.  Only ranked behind Augusta National, this means that Harbour Town ranked ahead of Muirfield Village, Colonial, Torrey Pines, Bay Hill, Riviera, Pebble Beach and all of the others the Tour visits each year.
