Straight from the saw-this-coming department, Phil Mickelson hinted over the weekend at the Tour Championship that he may reduce his schedule by 25% next season.  Phil has averaged just shy of 21 starts the past 10 seasons, so if he actually does cut it by a quarter he’d be down to the 16ish Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods range.   [Read more…]

Following a brief jaunt North of the border, the PGA Tour is back in the U.S. for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone.  It’s one of my favorite non-majors of the year, as Firestone is a great track and always provides a stern test and a thrilling tourney; however, it’s also always a bit depressing as I mentally associate the Ohio track with the beginning of the end of summer.
